Sophia Rusk, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

About Me

I was drawn to Parkwood because of its mission and collaborative team environment. I love continuing to develop my clinical and professional skills, and Parkwood provides a supportive place to learn, grow, and deliver high-quality care.

Originally from Sacramento, California, I spent nearly 10 years living in Reno, Nevada before returning to California. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my husband, reading with my cat nearby, and playing soccer, a sport I've loved since childhood. I'm also learning to play the piano and crochet, and I'm conversationally fluent in both French and American Sign Language (ASL).

Specialties

My clinical interests include AAC assessment and implementation, functional communication, supporting individuals with profound communication challenges, feeding intervention, and working with individuals on the autism spectrum. I enjoy helping clients of all ages, from young children to adults, and value tailoring therapy to meet each person's unique strengths and goals.
