About Me

McKenzie joined the Parkwood team in 2024. McKenzie grew up in Portland and has spent many years working with children as a paraeducator and in childcare. She gained valuable clinical experience during her graduate studies, completing a clinical placement in the private practice setting, gaining experience working with fluency, articulation, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). Additionally, McKenzie worked at a local high school, working closely to support pragmatic language and developmental language disorders.

In her research, McKenzie focused on the efficacy of self-disclosure statements for individuals who stutter in Spanish. She holds a certificate in a bilingual concentration, specializing in the treatment and assessment of bilingual clients.

Outside of work, McKenzie is a certified yoga instructor and enjoys hiking with her dog, cooking new foods, and traveling to different countries!
